About the program

Missouri Southern State University’s Visual Art degree provides students with a strong foundation in studio practice and art history while preparing them for creative careers or advanced study in the arts.

Students explore a variety of studio disciplines while developing their personal artistic style and professional portfolio. The program also allows students to complement their visual art studies with minors in fields such as marketing, business, modern languages, literature, philosophy, chemistry, psychology, or theatre.

Graduates of the Visual Art program are prepared to pursue graduate study or launch careers as professional artists, illustrators, photographers, and other creative professionals.
