Publication Design Certificate

Develop concepts, composition and page layout techniques for integrating visual imagery and text based content into a variety of publication projects, including newsletters, posters, and books.

With the Certificate of Publication Design you will gain the ability to:


  • Design long form works that communicate with audiences through public distribution.
  • Create posters, feature pages, magazine covers, editorial spreads, and/or book jackets.
  • Develop professional pamphlets, annual reports and newsletters for corporate environments.
  • Devise layouts for newspapers, catalogs and magazines.

What You’ll Learn:


Successful graduates with the Certificate of Publication Design will be able to:

  • Demonstrate awareness and application of blending typography and imagery to create engaging layouts.
  • Develop technical skills using appropriate, professional design software.
  • Design a range of products suitable for print or digital publication (e-publishing).

A personal, digital portfolio will be produced showcasing the ability to create a range of publication types including; covers for magazines and books, poster designs, brochure, pamphlets or newsletters and a longer form publication such as a newspaper, booklet, journal or catalog.
