Phi Eta Sigma

MSSU's Chapter of Phi Eta Sigma

Phi Eta Sigma is an American freshman honor society. It was founded at the University of Illinois on March 22, 1923. It is the oldest and largest freshman honor society and now has more than 375,000 chapters. MSSU hosts a chapter of Phi Eta Sigma and to qualify:

  • Full-time first year students must attain a 3.5 GPA during either their fall or spring semester of their first year.
  • Membership is by invitation and induction only.
  • Once students pledge membership to Phi Eta Sigma, they are members for life.

To join Phi Eta Sigma

Freshmen who receive an invitation to join will complete a membership form and pay his or her one-time only dues. Members will receive a certificate of membership, a lapel pin or a charm, and a Phi Eta Sigma t-shirt.
