What it is

Employer Connection Events are designed to allow area employers and organizations access to MSSU’s student population for recruitment purposes.

How to Participate

There are a variety of ways you can participate in the Employer Connection Events. Each interaction has a low price of only $50!

  • Virtual Information Session
    Hosting a virtual event for 30-45 minutes, providing an informational presentation about your business or organization as well as career opportunities or candidate qualifications.
  • In-Person Information Session
    Hosting a in person event on campus: 1 business or organization representative only in a socially distanced venue with a maximum attendance capacity, masks required (maximum capacity dependent upon space size). for 30-45 minutes, providing an informational presentation about your business or organization as well as career opportunities or candidate qualifications.
  • Class Presentation (in-person or virtual)
    Business or organizational representative delivering a presentation related to a professional development topic, or industry specific best practice of their choosing. Time limit of 15-20 minutes. Promotion of the company and/or career opportunities should not be the primary focus of the presentation.

**Scheduling based upon faculty availability and approval of presentation topic.

  • Catered Campus Visit
    One (1) business or organization representative only in a socially distanced venue with a maximum attendance capacity, masks required (maximum capacity dependent upon space size).Providing an informational presentation about your business or organization as well as career opportunities or candidate qualifications.

    ** Catering must be provided and purchased by the organization while also being prepackaged meals for individual consumption.

  • Direct and Digital Marketing on Campus
    Business or organization will provide digital images and printed materials for distribution across campus. Marketing and promotional mediums include:
    • 11 x 17 printed posters
    • 5 x 11 printed flyers for campus mail (distributed to all faculty and staff across campus)
    • Hire a Lion Dashboard Announcement
    • Digital Billboards
    • Student and alumni ListServ email including text and images provided by employers
    • Social Media Posts on: LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram
  • Resume Writing Competition Partnership
    Business or organizational representatives will aid the MSSU Career Services team in reviewing resume submissions on a monthly basis. Resume rubrics will be provided by the MSSU Career Services while feedback from the business or organizational representative will be provided back to the student.
  • Professional Development Webinar (in-person or virtual)
    Business or organizational representative delivering a presentation related to a professional development topic, or industry specific best practice of their choosing. Time limit of 45 minutes. Promotion of the company and/or career opportunities should not be the primary focus of the presentation. Hosting an in-person event on campus: 1 business or organization representative only in a socially distanced venue with a maximum attendance capacity, masks required (maximum capacity dependent upon space size).
  • Employer Spotlight Video
    Business or organization will provide a brief (5-15 minute) video promoting the organization and/or career opportunities. Video will be distributed across the following platforms:
    • MSSU Career Services Webpage
    • Hire a Lion Employer Profile
    • MSSU Career Services Blackboard Organization online learning platform
    • YouTube
    • Social Media pages and promotion: LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram

All refund requests and cancellations must be received ten business days prior to the event as outlined in the Refund and Cancellation Policy.

If you are interested in engaging with students, please fill out the form below. A member of the Career Services team will reach out to you once request has been received. All requests must be reviewed and approved by Career Services and University Leadership.
