Community Day is an opportunity for students to get to know the greater Joplin and Four State Community. One of the recurring themes in any entry level job search is lack of experience. "Where do I get experience if no one is willing to hire me?" The answer is simple: Get an internship! Join us to connect with businesses and organizations recruiting students from all majors. Internships are the primary methodology for students to apply curriculum principles and topics from the classroom in a professional setting. Internships come in various formats such as semester long, monthly, or summer. Gain knowledge related to employer hiring preferences alongside personal connections within various industries, businesses, and organizations. This event is open to all students and alumni regardless of major.

Attend to network, learn about a variety of organizations, and find great job prospects related to the education field. Visit with over 100+ businesses and organizations from a wide variety of industries, recruiting students and alumni for full time, part time, internship, and volunteer opportunities. Grow your professional network and knowledge of opportunities within the four state community. Representatives from a variety of industries are looking to Hire a Lion!
Hire a Lion is MSSU Career Services' job & resume database. Employers can post jobs, view student resumes and register for career events or on-campus interviews. Not only is it FREE, but it's also a quick and easy way to let MSSU students and alumni know about all of your job openings. Qualifying employers can post full-time, part-time and internship opportunities. All employers must follow the principles for employment professionals established by The National Association of Colleges and Employers. Employers not meeting these guidelines will not be allowed to post positions or attend career fairs.

Career Services encourages employers to schedule on-campus interviews with students and alumni for their full-time and internship positions. Simply log into Hire a Lion or contact us to choose the dates and times you plan to conduct interviews on-campus. Please allow at least two weeks notice to publicize interview opportunities to students.
