Eryn Wagoner will continue to explore the beauty of science after graduating from Missouri Southern this past Saturday as the Outstanding Honors Student. The child of alumni, Wagoner fell in love with the university at a young age.
Another problem solver is in the world—Ashley Dean will be graduating from Missouri Southern with her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics this May, and she’s been named the Outstanding Graduate this semester.
Maya Greenquist will continue making her mark on the world when she graduates from Missouri Southern this Saturday with her bachelor's in biomedical sciences with a pre-medical emphasis.
While helping others move and improve the quality of their lives, Hayden Kisling himself is moving in the right direction as he graduates from Missouri Southern with his kinesiology degree in health promotion and wellness.
Throughout her exceptional accomplishments at Missouri Southern, Maya Dally’s love for English literature and writing has grown with her experience. Surrounded by books helping students as a student worker at Spiva Library, she is constantly reminded of why she chose to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in English, Literary Studies and a minor in Creative Writing.

Healthcare experts, professionals, and students from across the country gathered at Missouri Southern to commemorate the inaugural Willcoxon Innovation in Health Sciences Summit on Thursday, April 11. Taylor Performing Arts Center hosted sessions where experts described the bright possibilities for the future of healthcare in the region.

The two-year anniversary of the war on Ukraine is approaching. February 24, 2022, changed many people's lives, and Dr. Chris Moos, professor emeritus at Missouri Southern, was inspired to help Ukrainian students whose families may not have the means to fully support their students. This scholarship would help fund opportunities for these students to attend college in America.
The Disney College Program is an internship program that allows college students to earn on-the-job experience in different roles within Disney Parks. From January to June 2023, Woodruff was placed in Epcot during both the International Festival of Arts and the Flower and Garden festival, cycling through the 13 different kiosks during the events. Outside of festival season, she worked at Typhoon Lagoon Waterpark or ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
Missouri Southern will host Lion Pride Visit Days on Friday, March 8 and Saturday, April 13 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Guests can learn about Missouri Southern, meet faculty and current students, and participate in a campus tour. They can also visit the Lion Mall to learn about various academic programs and student resources, such as Financial Aid and Student Life.
In addition to their scholarship, Delores and Jim have generously contributed to the Lions Forward Campaign. Recognizing the enduring impact of private donations, Delores stresses, "As members of the Foundation Board, we bear the responsibility to support and advance the university's mission. Our community advocacy plays a crucial role in conveying both our current status and future direction."
Missouri Southern, in collaboration with Missouri Biotechnology Association and Missouri Western State University, has been awarded a $2.3 million state appropriation known as Missouri Science to Jobs. The funds will be used to increase collaboration and educational opportunities via industry partnerships in the precision health and agricultural science fields.
Students surround the tables lining the second-floor hallway in Billingsly Student Center, eager to learn about each club offered on campus. From Greek Life to printmaking, from academic honor societies to esports, there are many organizations and clubs for students to join.
Jazmine Knight is usually the one behind the camera, but this time, all cameras were on her as she graduated from Missouri Southern this Saturday. Knight felt right at home in the communications department, where she doubled majored in communications and public relations with minors in entrepreneurship and speech communications.
When Riley McFall walked across the stage on Saturday, he became the first person in the United States to hold a certificate in Behavioral Neuroscience. The certificate was added to MSSU’s psychology department catalogue in Fall 2023, and McFall had taken all the courses required to earn it.
“I love Missouri Southern; it has been my second home for many years” says Beverly. “I’ve worked with good people. I like the students. My goal has always been to help students learn so they have the tools to succeed. I want them to say that Missouri Southern played a big part in their success. The need for philanthropy is why I decided years ago to be a donor and support the university.”
“We want to bring together medical professionals and non-medical professionals—those who teach the arts and humanities—to see what we can do to help us improve healthcare,” said Dr. Alla Barry, conference co-chair and professor of biology & environmental health.
Behind the Reference desk on the third floor of the George A. Spiva Library is the Lion Co-op. The donation-based pantry serves all Missouri Southern students and employees by offering quality food and personal hygiene products to combat food insecurity.

At the international student orientation, students gather to learn about campus, meet each other for the first time, and express their excitement and expectations for this semester. With 85 new students out of the 143 currently enrolled, 39 countries are represented at the university. This is a huge transition for them, but they are optimistic for the year ahead.

For Vanessa Louis-Jeune Dolce, an international student from Haiti, that included overcoming a language barrier and significant cultural changes.
