Graduating Student Highlight: Trinity Alley

The criminal justice field will gain another dedicated professional when Trinity Alley walks across the stage on May 10th.

Originally from Pea Ridge, Arkansas, Alley chose Missouri Southern for its size and affordability.

“MSSU was affordable as a student paying her own way through college, and it isn’t too far from home,” Alley shared.

Upon her last-minute decision to major in Criminal Justice, Alley knew that this was the right path.

“The program felt like stumbling upon a goldmine,” she said. “I’ve met some of the most inspiring people, from professors to fellow students, and the hands-on learning opportunities have been incredible. MSSU’s Criminal Justice program is nothing short of amazing.”

One of those hands-on learning opportunities was participating in Assistant Professor of Justice Studies Dr. Betsey Adelizzi’s midnight crime scene callouts, where students were called out in the middle of the night to process a mock crime scene.

“This allowed us students to put ourselves in the position of true crime scene investigators,” Alley explained. “It was an incredible learning experience.”

Alley was also asked to give a tour of the Criminal Justice department to MSSU’s Board of Governors, giving her the chance to show off the program.

“I met some of the faces behind the college that many students don’t get to meet,” she said. “I was able to show them what the Criminal Justice department is all about as well as some of the exciting things we get to do on a daily basis and how important it has become to us as students.”

After graduation, Alley plans to work for the Children’s Division in child abuse investigations and looks forward to moving closer to her family.

“I feel truly blessed and grateful that I chose to pursue my degree at MSSU and in the criminal justice field,” Alley said. “My experience has been incredible, and I’ve formed friendships that will last a lifetime.”
