Spirit of Service Award

Purpose:


Established in 2017, The Spirit of Service award is given to Missouri Southern alumni who have made significant contributions to their community through their time, actions, talents and dedication (outside any required volunteer work done for their employer).  The recipient should have a passion for helping others in their community and should serve as a role model for compassion and service. They do not have to live in or impact the Joplin or surrounding communities.

Criteria:


Nominees for this award should be any alumni from Joplin Junior College or Missouri Southern and shall not be a paid staff member of MSSU or a member of the awards committee. Nominees should have consistently demonstrated qualities of compassion and service to civic organizations and/or volunteer activities. The volunteer activities listed on the application cannot be part of the nominee’s job description or duties, and the individual cannot have received any monetary or personal benefits from their involvement.
