Outstanding Graduate Award

Since 1972, the Missouri Southern Outstanding Graduate Award has honored a graduating senior who exemplifies academic excellence, leadership, and meaningful contributions to both campus and community. Presented each spring during the Academic Achievement Recognition Ceremony, this award is the highest recognition given to a Missouri Southern graduate by the MSSU Alumni Association.

 

How the Nomination Process Works

Students selected as departmental Outstanding Graduates are automatically considered for the university-wide award. Additional graduates may be nominated by faculty and staff by submitting a special nomination form, which will be disseminated yearly university wide. Nomination materials are gathered from multiple sources to ensure a well-rounded evaluation.
The Alumni Awards Committee - made up of Alumni Board members and faculty - reviews all nominations and recommends finalists to the Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Nominees must:
  • Demonstrate integrity and leadership
  • Be respected by peers and faculty
  • Maintain an above-average GPA
  • Be actively involved in campus and community life
