Our artificial intelligence certificate introduces students to the rapidly expanding field of artificial intelligence (AI).  As AI drives many businesses and organizations today, there is a need for qualified AI analysts to meet the increasing demands of a global ecosystem.  With MSSU’s Artificial Intelligence Graduate Certificate, you can learn the skills needed to break into this lucrative field.   

Complete this program as a stand-alone certificate in less than one academic year (August to May). To further prepare for an exciting career at the intersection of business and data analytics, the AI certificate can also be used as an entry point into our Master of Business Administration in Applied Data Analytics or Master of Science in Data Analytics degrees.

Program Flexibility 

Our innovative course delivery options allow you to pursue your educational goals while meeting the demands of career, family, and other demands. The four courses required for the AI certificate are offered in our HyFlex modality that allows students to complete coursework in one of three ways (or any combination):

  • Viewing live lectures online, synchronously (in real time) during class
  • Viewing recorded lectures online, asynchronously (no live component).
  • Attending evening classes in person: Plaster Hall, room 303. Classes are
    offered one day per week (no Fridays), 6pm-9pm.

Note: International students are required to attend in-person classes to meet immigration requirements.

Program Curriculum 

MSSU’s Artificial Intelligence Certificate is comprised of 12 credit hours:

  • DATA 510 – Foundations of Data Analytics, Fall Semester, 1st 8-weeks
  • DATA 520 – Enterprise Data Management, Fall Semester, 2nd 8-weeks
  • DATA 550 – Machine Learning – Spring Semester, 1st 8-weeks
  • DATA 555 – Artificial Intelligence – Spring Semester, 2nd 8-weeks

Admissions Requirements 

To apply for the Artificial Intelligence Graduate Certificate, you must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a regionally accredited college or university or an equivalent international institution, with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher. In addition, you must provide documentation of one of the following:

  • 25 cumulative GPA in a bachelor’s degree
  • Three years of full-time work experience
  • Combined score of 300 on the verbal and quantitative sections of the Graduate Records Examination (GRE)
  • Minimum score of 450 on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with at least a 3.0 GPA

Conditional Admission: An applicant who does not fully meet the requirements for admission as a regular graduate student, at the discretion of the Graduate Programs Coordinator, may be allowed to enroll in the graduate program under a conditional acceptance status. Please submit your application materials to the online application portal for consideration.
