The Lion Co-Op was founded to support students experiencing food insecurity, a limited or uncertain access to enough nutritious food. This challenge often forces students to skip meals, choose lower-quality food, or worry constantly about where their next meal will come from.
Lack of reliable nutrition is more than a personal hardship; it’s a barrier to learning. When students are hungry, it becomes harder to concentrate, engage in class, and persist toward graduation. The Lion Co-Op helps remove that barrier by ensuring students have access to the food they need to succeed—academically and personally.
