Office of Global Education Student Travel Grants

• Foundation Scholarships
• Fund for Education Abroad: FEA helps students with financial need identify external scholarships for their time abroad. Students must apply early. See website for deadlines and qualifying conditions.
• Social Crew Abroad: Social Crew Abroad gives students the opportunity to share their international experiences through social media. Showcase your study abroad, exchange, or international experience while helping future Lions see what it’s really like to live, learn, and explore abroad. Students selected for Social Crew Abroad who meet the program criteria will receive a $250 scholarship.
• 1,000 Grant for Short-Term Programs and $1,250 Semester/Year Exchange Programs: Students that wish to be considered for a travel grant from the Office of Global Education should select "yes," they want to be considered for the grant on applications for qualifying programs. This option automatically appears on the application to participate in qualifying programs.
  • Qualifications: Students must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and be a full-time MSSU student to be eligible for a grant. For Spring Break programs, students must be enrolled or have completed a combined total of 24 hours during the previous Summer, Fall, and current Spring semesters. For May or Summer programs, students must have completed or be enrolled in a combined total of 24 hours during the preceeding Fall and Spring semesters. If a student’s GPA drops below 2.5 before the study abroad experience, or if the student drops/fails a class and no longer has full-time status, his or her funding will be revoked. Graduate students must have a minimum 2.5 GPA, have completed at least 9 hours of graduate study, and be currently enrolled in at least 9 hours of graduate study at the time of the application. 
  • Requirements/Expectations: If you qualify, you must be willing to share about your experiences via campus presentations, photographs, or other testimonials as requested by the Office of Global Education.
