Simulation Center

The Simulation Center is a hybrid classroom that can function as a multi-media lecture space or a four patient bed simulated hospital unit. There is a centralized control room which is used to operate all of the audio/visual equipment in the room as well as the patient care simulators.

Patient Care Skill Labs

Both the Nursing and Respiratory Therapy programs have dedicated space to offer a variety of skills training for their respective students. These spaces are utilized to train students from basic to advanced procedural and assessment skills. Each lab has a variety of patient manikins, skill trainers, and equipment needed to promote clinical competence.

EMS Ambulance Simulator

The Emergency Medical Services Program at MSSU offers the nations only side-by-side ambulance bay simulator for EMT/Paramedic students. These two simulators offer a variety of realistic training opportunities for students. Within each bay, students can learn to start I.V.'s, use vital sign monitors and other life-saving equipment to help manage a variety of patient conditions.

Nursing Virtual Reality Lab

The Nursing Virtual Reality Lab is an immersive program which allows students to engage with a high level of perceptual fidelity, giving them the opportunity to develop clinical reasoning, decision making and communication skills.

Radiology Exam Labs

The Radiology Program offers two exam rooms to train students on the proper techniques of patient positioning and radiographic technique selection. This training helps improve students ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare providers, while enhancing their ability to critically think and solve problems in their daily work environment.

The American Heart Training Lab

The American Heart Association (AHA) training lab offers students and faculty space to train and become certified with the AHA. Those certifications include: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Simulated Medication & Supply Room

The Simulated Medication and Supply room is used in conjunction with the Simulation Center. This space is used to help train students on the proper procedures of medication administration. It offers a Med-Dispense system similar to what is used in the hospital setting, an I.V. prep medication cart and storage cabinets for supplies.
