General Business Emphasis

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – General Business

The General Business emphasis is intended to offer a comprehensive approach across the
primary areas of business including Accounting, Finance/Economics, International Business,
Management, and Marketing. Students who intend to pursue careers in small business
management, or perhaps taking over a family business enterprise, may find the flexibility of this
degree program best for them. Other students with more full-time professional experience may
also prefer the broader course selection available in this degree program.

About the General Business Emphasis

The BSBA in General Business is not designed to provide specialized study in a particular area
of business. Students that pursue the General Business emphasis are strongly encouraged to also pursue a minor. See the list of minors offered by the Plaster School of Business.

The Undecided Business major is designed for students who are uncertain about which emphasis to declare. Ideally, students should select a major by the start of their Junior year of college.

Career Outlook in General Business

The General Business emphasis is designed to prepare students for a broad range of entry-level positions in businesses. Common career opportunities with this emphasis:

  • Store Manager
  • Customer Service Coordinator
  • Sales Associate
  • Account Manager
  • Real Estate

Program Flexibility

Although our accredited Marketing program offers in-person classes, we also offer all courses
online for students that need to balance many responsibilities. Whether in-person or online,
expect to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in your marketing career.
