About Military Science
The Missouri Army National Guard Officer Leadership Program (SHOW-ME GOLD) will offer citizens of Missouri the opportunity for professional development to become officers in the Missouri Army National Guard. The Military Science minor is a four year program in which students contract with the Missouri National Guard for military service upon completion of their degree. GOLD 101 is open enrollment for all students without a contractual obligation. The program is offere3d in both classroom and laboratory learning environments.
What You'll Learn
- Coursework will begin with introduction and foundations classes in tactical leadership.
- Military Fitness classes will be offered each semester.
- You'll learn about adaptive team leadership, leadership in changing environments in preparation for Officer Candidate School.
- The course is capped with the class "Leadership in a Complex Word" to offer a broader view of leadership, military science and rules of engagement.
This Degree is Great for You if:
- You're interested in the potential for Montgomery G.I. Bill funding, paid job skills and training, monthly drill pay and affordable health insurance.
- You already have military experience and want to take university classes and prepare for commissioning in the Missouri Army National Guard.
- You're interested in military science and see the minor as a preparation for Officer Candidate School.
