Financial Aid Suspension Appeal Procedure

Total withdrawal from all classes automatically:

  1. Terminates all Federal Title IV aid (Pell, SEOG, Perkins loans, Stafford loans, and Plus loans) and
  2. Places the student on financial aid suspension (not academic suspension).

Federal Title IV aid will not be reinstated until:

  • Satisfactory Progress according to the catalog is reached and/or
  • Credit hour deficiencies are completed.

Students may appeal the suspension of aid by completing the Suspension Appeal Application, if applicable, and including documentation for medical reasons or extenuating circumstances. The Director of Financial Aid will review all applications. After reviewing the file, the Director may place the student on Financial Aid Probation, allowing aid to be reinstated.

In some circumstances, the Director will forward selected appeals to a 10 member committee. This committee is comprised of volunteers from several departments on campus. The decisions of the committee are final.
