Founded in 1937, Missouri Southern is located on the northeast side of Joplin, a city of approximately 50,000 within larger metro area of over 150,000 in beautiful southwest Missouri.
MSSU is accessed by I-249 from the north and south and I-44 from the east and west. Joplin and surrounding communities offer a wide number venues for shopping, eating and sight-seeing. If your group includes guests coming from out of town, a large number of accommodations are available within a 10 minute drive from the University.
Joplin Municipal Airport provides links to air travel. Visitors may also make use of commercial taxi services or the Sunshine Lamp Trolley, which transports citizens and visitors across the city at affordable fares.
