
MSSU offers transfer scholarships to help incoming undergraduate students fund their education. These awards recognize academic achievement and provide financial support to students transferring from accredited colleges and universities.
Board of Governors Distinguished Scholarship
Award Value: $6,000 ($1,000 per semester)
Eligibility:
- Regularly admitted as a degree-seeking student at MSSU
- Incoming undergraduate transfer student who has never attended MSSU
- Transferred from an accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university
- Completed at least 24 post-high school credit hours
- Cumulative transfer GPA of 3.5 – 4.0
Renewability:
- Can be received for up to six semesters
- Must maintain full-time status (12+ credit hours per semester)
- Must remain in good academic standing
- Must maintain a cumulative MSSU GPA of 3.25 or higher
President’s Distinguished Scholarship
Award Value: $4,500 ($750 per semester)
Eligibility:
- Regularly admitted as a degree-seeking student at MSSU
- Incoming undergraduate transfer student who has never attended MSSU
- Transferred from an accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university
- Completed at least 24 post-high school credit hours
- Cumulative transfer GPA of 3.25 – 3.49
Renewability:
- Can be received for up to six semesters
- Must maintain full-time status each semester
- Must remain in good academic standing
- Must maintain a cumulative MSSU GPA of 3.0 or higher
Dean’s Scholarship
Award Value: $1,500 ($250 per semester)
Eligibility:
- Regularly admitted as a degree-seeking student at MSSU
- Incoming undergraduate transfer student who has never attended MSSU
- Transferred from an accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university
- Completed at least 24 post-high school credit hours
- Cumulative transfer GPA of 3.0 – 3.24
Renewability:
- Can be received for up to six semesters
- Must maintain full-time status each semester
- Must remain in good academic standing
- Must maintain a cumulative MSSU GPA of 2.75 or higher
How to Apply
Students interested in transfer scholarships should submit their official transcripts to the MSSU Admissions Office. Awards are finalized based on cumulative GPA after at least 24 college-level credit hours have been completed.
