Lion Cub Academy Awarded Two Grants

Missouri Southern’s Lion Cub Academy has been awarded two MO Quality Pre-K grants from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. These grants will be distributed between the Lion Cub Academy’s main location and their new Taylor Hall space, helping partially fund tuition for qualifying students.

“These funds will allow us to provide a significant cost reduction for high-quality early childhood education in our area,” said Nikki Tappana, director of the Lion Cub Academy. "Parents with children going to kindergarten next year could be able to take advantage of this grant program.”

Lion Cub Academy is an early childhood center operated by MSSU. Working with the Teacher Education Department, the service aims to provide exceptional child care while fostering an atmosphere of educational, social, emotional, and physical development. Additional information can be found on the Lion Cub Academy’s website.

Lion Cub Academy is currently enrolled in both the Missouri Quality Assurance Report Pilot Program and the Missouri Supporting Early Childhood Administrators, helping to enhance the quality of child care in the state.

There are currently openings available for Spring 2024 in the Taylor Hall space.
