Missouri Southern State University will award degrees to 315 students in a 10 a.m. ceremony on Saturday. The event, to be in the university’s Leggett and Platt Athletic Center, will celebrate the conferring of master’s, bachelor’s, and associate degrees to the students.
Doors for graduates and guests will open at 8:30 a.m.
Graduating students represent the university’s College of Health, Life Sciences and Education; the College of Arts and Sciences; and the College of Business, Communication and Technology. The ceremony will also recognize the graduation of 15 international students representing 10 different countries: Bahamas, the British Virgin Islands, Czech Republic, Guatemala, Guyana, Jamaica, Japan, Kenya, Mexico and Nigeria.
Dennis Burns, a 1991 Missouri Southern graduate and president of the Kansas City-based Pulse Design Group, will be the commencement’s guest speaker. He previously spent more than a decade as the director of Business Development for Crossland Construction Company before beginning his own company.
It will be the 81st commencement ceremony in the college’s history. For those unable to attend, the ceremony will be live streamed on YouTube.
