The University Archives/Special Collections Department at Missouri Southern State University welcomes any inquiries regarding the potential donation of personal papers, photographs, maps, books or other publications.
We will review these potential donations based on their:
- connection to the local community
- scholarly or historical value
- relation to existing collections
- condition
The 'local community' in this case is broadly defined as Missouri, along with the states that boarder southwest Missouri (Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas). This includes the documents of people who lived in the area at any point in time, as well as graduates, faculty and staff of Missouri Southern State University.
While local collections are given priority, we will potentially accept collections that do not have any local connection.
Please call 417-625-9552 or email Hamm-W@mssu.edu to discuss the donation of personal papers, photographs, maps, books or other publications.
Please be aware that the University Archives/Special Collections staff are not authorized or qualified to provide appraisals of archival materials, maps, books or art objects.
