About teacher education

The Teacher Education program at MSSU prepares future educators through nationally accredited programs, experienced faculty, and hands-on classroom learning. Our faculty bring P–12 teaching experience into the classroom and are committed to helping students succeed from their first education course through student teaching.

As an MSSU education student, you'll:

  • Learn in small classes with personalized support from faculty.
  • Gain real-world experience through field placements, internships, and community partnerships.
  • Graduate prepared to lead your own classroom using current teaching strategies and technology.
Why I Chose MSSU

Kaylin Portillo, Elementary Education

"I chose to attend the College of Health, Life Sciences & Education at MSSU to pursue a degree in teacher education because I was aware of its reputation for having exceptional advisors, professors, and a commitment to providing high-quality education. I believe that with the guidance of these great advisors and the rigorous learning environment offered, I will be well-prepared for future endeavors."
