About the University


 

Founded in 1920, Duksung Women’s University has a reputation of being one of the prestigious universities in South Korea. It has two beautiful campuses: the Ssangmun main campus and the Jongno second campus. The Ssangmun campus is located at the foot of Mt. Bukhan National Park, while the Jongno campus is located in the heart of downtown Seoul with a beautiful Korean traditional ancient palace. DWU has 6,000 students, 550 faculty, and 120 staff members.

Duksung has a College of Humanities, College of Social Sciences, College of Natural Sciences, College of Information and Media, College of Art and Design, College of Pharmacy, Division of General Education, Division of Teacher Education, a Graduate School of Education, and a Graduate School of Culture & Industries.

The special summer program, Discover Korea at Duksung, allows students to explore the Korean language and culture while staying at Duksung for three weeks in July. The program consists of daily language and cultural lectures and site visits around Seoul and a two-day field trip outside of Seoul. Each student is matched with a Duksung buddy to learn more about Korea.
