Stephanie Hopkins, Ed.S., Director
Ms. Hopkins began her career at MSSU in 1995. She has earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an Emphasis in Marketing from Missouri Southern State University, a Master of Science in Human Resource Development and a Specialist in Education with an Emphasis in Industrial Education from Pittsburg State University. Before becoming the Director of the Student Success Center in 2011, she held previous positions at MSSU as a Financial Aid Counselor, Student Accounts Manager, and Academic Support Specialist. In addition, she has taught the University Experience class, College Academic Skills, Tutor Training, and Leadership and Professional Development classes. Ms. Hopkins serves on various committees on campus. She oversees the general operation of the Student Success Center. In 2013, she received the Superior Service Award from MSSU. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new places, yoga, and shopping.

Lori Musser, Ed.S., Coordinator of Student Disability Services
Mrs. Musser holds a BS degree in Education from Missouri Southern, and a Master of Science in Counseling and one in Educational Administration, both from Missouri State University. She also holds her Specialist degree in Educational Leadership, also from Missouri State University. Before becoming the Coordinator of Student Disability Services in August, 2012, Mrs. Musser spent 25 years as a public school educator in the Joplin, Missouri area. Mrs. Musser is excited about her second career in higher education and passionate about helping students with disabilities have full access to all university experiences. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, fishing and being a Grandma.

Craig Thompson, M.Ed., Academic Skills Specialist
Mr. Thompson has a Bachelor of Arts in English, with a creative writing emphasis, and a Master of Science in Education – Curriculum and Instruction, both from the University of Missouri – Columbia. Before becoming the Academic Skills Specialist in July of 2016, Mr. Thompson served as International Admissions Counselor in the International Admissions office. He has also taught in MSSU’s International English Program as an adjunct instructor. He enjoys writing and, when he has the chance, exploring big cities and old bookstores. Before moving back to Joplin, he lived in Taipei, Taiwan, for ten years
