The SEG Medal Award (later renamed in honor of Reginald Fessenden) was created in 1961.

Donate an Instrument

Our museum exists because companies and individuals donate instruments to be displayed in our collection. They do so because it is to their advantage to let people see and learn about geophysics in a practical and educational way. Our past shapes our future.

The SEG Geoscience Center is the only organization world-wide dedicated to preserving the heritage of geophysical exploration.  As petroleum reserves become depleted and the world finds new sources of energy, all of the technology used to find oil will become irretrievably lost if we do not begin documenting it now!

Any donation to the SEG Geoscience Center or the Virtual Museum will be appreciated for years to come!  Your donation may remain anonymous or displayed on the page showcasing your donation.
