Director of Human Resources

The Director of Human Resources, reportable to the Vice President for Business Affairs, has the responsibility for strategic leadership in the planning and implementation of quality-based human resource (HR) programs for all faculty and staff.  The Director will lead university-wide HR functions, including recruitment, compensation, payroll, labor relations, benefits, training and policy design and administration. Duties include but are not limited to day-to-day management of all of the HR department functions; administering benefit programs such as insurance, retirement, and leave plans; administering and updating salary administration programs; overseeing recruitment, interviewing, and selection of employees; writes directives for department managers regarding EOE, compensation, and employee benefits. The Director acts as the University contact with legal counsel in personnel-related hearings, investigations and HR policy compliance; addresses employee complaints; and oversees other various human resource policies and practices. 

Master’s degree in a related field plus seven to ten years related experience and/or training required. Certification preferred.
