Beimdiek Rec CenterJOPLIN, MO (SNS) - More than 100 exercise and weight machines are ready for student action each semester at MSSU's state-of-the-art Beimdiek Recreation Center.

A  triple basketball court gymnasium surrounded by a suspended indoor walking/running track, weight and exercise areas on two different levels, aerobic dance and exercise rooms, a state of the art film theatre, a new bookstore, student commons area with computer access and flat screen TVs, and the Willcoxon Student Health Center.

The Willcoxon Health Center, made possible by a grant from Dr. and Mrs. Robert Willcoxon, is located in the Beimdiek Student Center, with access to its own outside entrance.

The Beimdiek Center, located inside the Billingsly Student Center (BSC) is a beacon for campus life, engaging students to actively use the facility. Inside, a main street causeway promotes a social environment through interior openness and views of activity areas, and allows students to “shop the activities” within. MSSU's green and gold are utilized throughout the building.

The BSC is the home of the Beimdiek Recreation Center, the Willcoxon Health Center, the campus bookstore, textbook rental services, ticket office, Lion’s Den Food Service and student life offices. The upstairs portion of the structure contains the meeting room of the Board of Governors and other meeting rooms and reception areas.
