Turkish Film Festival: Distant
Tuesday, 28 October, 2014
With slow and careful persistence, director Nuri Ceylan's film gradually reveals the alienation and loneliness of a recently divocced Istanbul photographer, Mahmut, who is compelled to open his home and his life to a troublesome, aimless relative, Yusuf. This quite, probing film meditates on "distance" in every sense of the word. Winner of the Grand Prize and tow acting awards at Cannes.
