Head Women's Soccer Coach
Missouri Southern State University, a NCAA Division II member institution and member of the Mid-America Athletic Conference (MIAA), is seeking applications for Head Women’s Soccer Coach.
MSSU serves nearly 6,000 students in almost 200 academic programs. The institution currently supports over 350 student-athletes across 13 intercollegiate sports and has a rich athletic tradition and history of success. MSSU has recently undergone major construction and renovations worth an excess of $30 million for projects such as: new residence halls, FEMA shelter, baseball stadium, end zone facility, turf, etc. The institution is located in Joplin, Missouri, in the southwest corner of the state. Considered to be the “Crossroads of America”, Joplin is a friendly city of more than 50,000 with a trade area of close to 500,000 people.
The Head Women’s Soccer Coach will be responsible for the direction and oversight of a NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer program at Missouri Southern State University and the coaching functions related to the sport of Women’s Soccer. These functions include, but are not limited to the following: coaching, recruiting, practice, game day preparation, game strategies, alumni communication, fundraising, student-athlete well-being, student-athlete academic success and management of staff. It is critical that this position supervise staff, establish a strong working relationship with the University and surrounding community, follow NCAA, MIAA and university rules and regulations, develop the student-athletes physically, mentally and emotionally for Division II competition, organize and manage camps and clinics and any other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
Required qualifications include the following: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Proven ability to lead and manage people. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail and experience in working with a diverse population. Demonstrated ability and success in teaching the skills and fundamentals of the sport. The ability to organize and motivate student-athletes to maximum performance level in sports and academic achievements. Proven experience in recruiting highly motivated and qualified student-athletes. Compliant with all NCAA, conference and university rules and policies. Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university, head coaching experience at the collegiate level, and knowledge of the NCAA Division II model. Must be willing to relocate.

Assistant Athletic Trainer
Missouri Southern is currently seeking applications for 2 Assistant Athletic Trainers. The Assistant Athletic Trainer position is a 6 or 10-month position, similar to an internship, starting on December 1st or first available. Assistants will be assigned 2 sports throughout the course of the year, or 1 if only employed the Spring Semester. Assistants will cover practices and games for their assigned sport(s). During the typical school day, treatments will be administered in the morning from 8-12. Assistants will be expected to maintain appropriate records using SportsWare and ImPact. Assistants will provide injury prevention, evaluation of all injuries, as well as treatment and rehabilitation as needed. Team travel is expected. Due to conference policy, athletic trainer certification is required to travel. Additional responsibilities are possible as assigned by the full-time staff.
Compensation includes a $10,000 stipend per academic year and Missouri Licensure fees paid. Additional salary is available through camp coverage.
