Tyrone Jones is in his sixth year as an assistant coach for the Missouri Southern Lions. In five seasons with coaches Maryann Mitts and Ronda Hubbard, Jones has helped the Lions to a 67-46 record, four straight appearances in the MIAA Postseason Tournament and back-to-back winning campaigns. Before joining the Missouri Southern staff, Jones served for four years as an assistant coach at Iowa Western Community College. In that time, he helped lead the Reivers to a combined record of 95-29. Iowa Western qualified for the National Junior College Athletic Association national tournament in each of those seasons, finishing fifth with a 30-3 record in 2001-02. Jones also spent three seasons as assistant coach at Papillion (Neb.)-LaVista High School, helping lead the squad to a 47-14 record and three straight berths in the state tournament.
