FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Broussard will join two others from the MIAA to participate in the game as Northwest Missouri running back Xavier Omon and tight end Mike Peterson will join Broussard on the Texas Roster. He is one of nine total Division II players on both rosters. Broussard is the second Lion to be invited to the post season all-star game as Allen Barbre played in the inaugural game last year. Broussard, a transfer from Louisiana State, helped the Lions to nearly triple their rushing performance of 2006. Southern rushed for 2,405 yards as a team in 2007, up from 2006's total of 934. Broussard led the team in rushing with 892 yards on 165 carries and picked up 12 touchdowns. He finished sixth in the MIAA in rushing yardage and fifth in rushing touchdowns. Broussard had his most memorable performance when he rushed for 172 yards and four touchdowns in the game against Pittsburg State this season. For that performance, he shared MIAA Offensive Player of the Week honors. The four touchdowns were the most ever scored in a game by Broussard. Complete rosters and game information can be found on the game's website: http://texasvsthenation.cstv.com.
