Lions qualify 13 athletes to 2008 NCAA Division II Nationals
The Missouri Southern men's and women's track teams have qualified 13 individuals (six men, seven women) in 15 events for the 2008 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships held on May 22-24 at Pomona, Calif.

Williams qualifies in the pole vault at ESU Last Chance
Missouri Southern senior pole vaulter Jacob Williams vaulted to a height of 16 feet, eight inches and earned an automatic qualifying mark in the event this past weekend at the Emporia State Last Chance. [Full Story

The Missouri Southern Athletic Department is pleased to announce that TJ Britton and Jessica Selby-Tallman have been named the 2007-08 Male and Female Athletes of the year, as well as naming Colin Bado the recipient of the EO and Virginia Humphrey Award.

Lions sign five track athletes for 2008
Missouri Southern men's track and field coach Tom Rutledge has announced the addition of two jumpers, two sprinters and one distance runner to his list of 2008 recruits and all will begin training with the Lions in the fall of 2008.

Missouri Southern senior Michelle Hall (Kansas City, Mo. - Lee's Summit HS) has been named honorable mention All-MIAA today. The league's coaches vote on the honor and Hall was a second team selection a year ago.

The Missouri Southern golf team shot a final round 305 and finished in fourth place at the 2008 NCAA Division II Central Regional held at Red Hawk Run Golf Course in Findlay, Ohio.

Lion women complete MIAA Triple Crown with 2008 MIAA Outdoor Championship
The Missouri Southern women's track and field team completed the MIAA Triple Crown today as they continued their dominance in winning the 2008 MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Northwest Missouri State University. It is the first time an MIAA team has won the Triple Crown since the 2006 Central Missouri women's team won all three titles.

Lions win thrilling game one to split with No. 23 UCM in regular-season finale
The Missouri Southern Lions concluded the 2008 campaign with a bang by winning game one of a doubleheader 3-2 in dramatic fashion over the No. 23-ranked Central Missouri Mules.  The Mules rebounded to win an offensive slugfest in the second game, 16-11 Sunday afternoon (May 4) at Joe Becker Stadium.

No. 23 Mules use stellar pitching to sweep Lions
The No. 23-ranked Central Missouri Mules held the Missouri Southern Lions to two runs combined in a doubleheader sweep Saturday afternoon (May 3) at Joe Becker Stadium.  The Mules knocked off the Lions 4-0 in eight innings to win the opening contest and then won the second game 6-2.

Missouri Southern junior catcher Angie Turner (Springdale, Ark.) was named second team All-MIAA today as voted on by the coaches of the league. It is the third year in a row that Turner has picked up All-MIAA status.
