The Missouri Southern Alumni Association Staff works on behalf of alumni and friends of the university, and is the:

  • Initial proprietor of all alumni records for Missouri Southern working to achieve the greatest accuracy of the information while assuring appropriate records security, confidentiality and respecting alumni desires for privacy
  • Connection point for alumni and friends to Missouri Southern. 
  • Extends alumni association membership to all degree holders, former students, administrators, faculty, staff, currently enrolled students, parents of currently enrolled, former students of MSSU, and friends of the University.
  • Keeper of the traditions of MSSU both established and emergent, working to pass them down to succeeding generations of MSSU students and alumni
  • Provides communication between the alumni and the University, to actively support the voice of Alumni
  • Supervises and coordinates an alumni/student mentor program
  • Provider of quality and relevant programs, services and benefits for alumni and friends of MSSU
  • Communicates to alumni on life, work and achievements of MSSU, as well as the achievements of the university's alumni and friends through the alumni awards program (Lion-Hearted, Outstanding Alumni, Superior Service Awards, Outstanding Teachers, Governor's Award of Excellence, and the Hall of Fame Inductees)
  • Identifier of alumni volunteers for the Missouri Southern State University Alumni Office.
  • Supports the Missouri Southern's International Mission. The Alumni Association continues to incorporate Homecoming events, Legacy Day classes, and Literary lions selected reading with the themed semesters. Additionally, the Association has coordinated travel abroad and plans to organize more educational travel in the future.
  • To actively support the mission, tradition, and pride of Missouri Southern State University by uniting the Southern Family with a "Connection for Life."
