Dr. James Kilpatrick, Jr. teaches Spanish, supervises student teachers of foreign languages and is the Program Supervisor of the Medical Interpretation Spanish/English Program. James worked as a Sign Language Interpreter and a Sign Language Instructor for Joplin Public Schools while attending Missouri Southern. He graduated from Missouri Southern in Dec. of 96 with a B.S.E. (Spanish Education K -12). He graduated from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville campus, with a MA in Spanish Literature in the spring of 99. James attained ABD status from the University of Kansas (Lawrence) from the School of Education with a major in Foreign Language Education and an Emphasis in Spanish in the Fall of 2003. James worked as a Sign Language/English and Spanish/English interpreter for the medical staff and their patients from the Spring of 2002 until Summer of 2004 at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas. In 2009, James received his Ph.D. from University of Kansas (Lawrence) while teaching here at Missouri Southern
