Transfer and Former Students

Southern Welcome Department

Dear Transfer and Former Student,

The first step in being a lion is to apply for admission and to be accepted.  You will receive an acceptance letter from the Admissions office which will include your student identification number (S#).  A Southern Welcome brochure for students planning to enroll for the spring semester beginning in January will be mailed to those students who have successfully completed the application process and have been accepted to the university.

The second step is to enroll for the spring semester.  You can enroll in the department of your major during 'open enrollment' beginning Wednesday, November 16th  or you can attend the orientation and enrollment event called Southern Welcome  on Tuesday, November 22nd.   Southern Welcome is a convenient way for you to enroll with a faculty advisor, meet with financial aid representative, set up a payment if needed, get your student ID and parking permit, receive LioNet and BlackBoard training, in one afternoon in one location.  A reservation is required. Your reservation will ensure that we have an adequate number of faculty advisers to assist all students who attend the program.  Space is limited and you will need your S# from your acceptance letter to complete the reservation form.

The third step in being a lion is to attend spring classes beginning Tuesday, January 17th.  There are lots of opportunities waiting for you at MSSU!

If you choose to enroll on your own, please refer to the checklist below to ensure you have met with the appropriate departments to assist you in completing the enrollment process.
