Excellence Scholarship

Eligibility:


 

Excellence Scholarships are awarded directly to entering first-time freshmen by Missouri Southern on the basis of ACT composite score, high school GPA (or HiSet score) and class rank with an Admission Index number of 140 – 159. If your index number is 160 or higher, see the section on Presidential Scholarship. Please see the Admission Selection Index Calculator at the bottom of this page to figure your index number. Your official high school transcript with ACT score, class rank, and GPA needs to be sent to the Admissions Office. When you apply for Admissions, you automatically apply for this scholarship. To verify receipt of your transcript, contact the Admissions Office at 417-625-3098 or 417-625-9378. If your index number is 140-159 and you have not received an Excellence Scholarship acceptance certificate, please contact the Scholarship Office at 417-625-3161.

 

Value:


 

$1300 per academic year.

 

Renewal:


 

This scholarship is renewable up to 8 consecutive semesters with enrollment in at least 12 credit hours at MSSU per semester. Students must complete 24 credit hours for the fall and spring semesters with a 3.0 Cumulative GPA at the end of the Spring semester. If no credit is completed for the Fall semester, the student will lose the scholarship for the Spring semester. If Spring is the first semester, the student must complete at least 12 credit hours with at least a 3.0 Cumulative GPA.

This scholarship is for fall and spring semesters only, and is not applicable during summer semesters.

 

Additional Requirements:


 

This scholarship may not be combined with Honors or Presidential Scholarships. However, it may be combined with A+ Leadership Scholarship, Foundation scholarships, and performance/department awards up to direct institutional cost (tuition, costs, books, room/board).
You must use this scholarship within one year of High School graduation or GED testing.
Students must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
