Welcome to MSSU!

The First-Year Experience program (FYE) provides all freshmen with academic, social and emotional support. Its purpose is to connect you with resources that will help you transition to college life and ensure your success.

The first step in helping you is with the enrollment process-Southern Welcome.  Southern Welcome is a half-day orientation housed in one building.

All freshmen are required to attend a Southern Welcome.  A reservation to attend Southern Welcome is required.

All students are required to have a copy of their immunization records and a completed Medical History form on file at the Health Center. Please download the Medical History form, complete it and bring it with you along with a photocopy of your immunization records to Southern Welcome or turn it in to the Health Center at the beginning of the school year.

All students are required to activate and use their MSSU email account for all school-related information.

We believe each student is embedded in a family that support the students and so we give the family the opportunity to participate in the orientation session. We offer a concurrent Parent/Guest session on the same day.

The Southern Welcome Office is open weekdays from 8 a.m.to 5 p.m.
