Adjunct Instructor of English

The Department of English and Philosophy at Missouri Southern State University is seeking an Adjunct instructor(s) who will be able to teach English 80, English 101 or English 102 on campus beginning August 2014. Must have an MA degree in English or allied field (PhD preferred) and evidence of teaching excellence. Also accepting applicants for pool of English Adjunct Instructors for future availability when the need arises. Specialist, British Literature

The Department of English and Philosophy at Missouri Southern State University invites applicants for a non-tenure track position, with the possibility of renewal, for a Specialist in British Literature before 1800; teaching load is 12 credit hours course load per semester, beginning August of 2014. Highly desired are candidates with supporting background or experience in teaching History of the English Language and introductory Linguistics. (State of Missouri certification requirements for the BSE degree in English specify both HEL and linguistics. BA majors take one of the two courses.) A Ph.D. is preferred, though A.B.D.s will be considered. The successful candidate will teach general education and upper-division courses in early British literature as well as first-year writing.
