JOPLIN. MO (SNS) - Three Senior Art Education undergraduates will hold an art exhibition titled "Trio" Dec. 3 – 7 in the Spiva Art Gallery on the campus at Missouri Southern State University.
Trio will feature the works of Devon Doyle, Marilyn Stewart and Blaine Crocker.
Gallery hours are from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The closing reception will be Friday, Dec. 7 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Spiva Gallery.
Trio is a free event, appropriate for all ages. Refreshments will be served at the closing reception.
Blaine Crocker hails from Jefferson City. She will display a variety of two- and three-dimensional artwork that is inspired from moments in her life. A portion of her work facilitates repetition of patterns inspired by fabric designs. She plans to graduate in May 2013 from MSSU and then to pursue a career as an art teacher.
Marilyn Stewart is a Joplin native who currently resides in Jasper She plans to graduate with a degree in Art Education from MSSU in May 2013. The inspiration for most of her artwork comes from her family and her experiences living in the Ozarks. Marilyn has a background in Psychology which has also impacted her work.
Devon Doyle of Joplin is a senior in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in art education degree and plans on graduating from Missouri Southern State University in December 2013. Ms. Doyle's large-scale work features elements of drawing and sculpture and utilizes a variety of materials. Her artwork chronicles personal experiences, many reflecting her childhood years, growing up on a small farm outside of Pierce City.
