JOPLIN, MO – Missouri Southern State University Service learning student, Sophie Jeng, in partnership with HOPE 4 You Breast Cancer Foundation, will commemorate the 25th annual Breast Cancer Awareness Month by showing “1 a Minute: What will YOU Do?” -- a documentary film about surviving breast cancer.

The film will show three times in November.

HOPE 4 You Breast Cancer Foundation’s mission is to work within the local area to raise awareness, provide support, offer education, and bring hope to breast cancer survivors.

A junior biology major from Joplin, Sophie Jeng will be showing a documentary movie relating to breast cancer survivors. Her main aim is to change the concept of some young individuals who believe that only old people are prone to breast cancer. While the percentage of women with breast cancer under age 40 is small, young women can and sometimes do get breast cancer.

The documentary will be shown on campus at 6 p.m. on Nov. 1, 15, and 29 in the Student Life Center on the MSSU campus.

After the film, members of HOPE 4 You Breast Cancer Foundation will present information and be available to answer questions relating to breast cancer.

The documentary evokes great emotion in the audience and tells what it means to be a breast cancer survivor.
