MSSU hosts a chapter of Phi Eta Sigma, National Freshman Honor Society.
To qualify for Phi Eta Sigma, full time first-year students must attain a 3.5 cumulative GPA during any semester of their first-year. Membership is by invitation and induction only. Once students pledge membership to Phi Eta Sigma, they are members for life.
While membership in Phi Eta Sigma is for life, MSSU's Phi Eta Sigma chapter offers Green and Gold Membership to those that maintain a competitive GPA, attend meetings regularly, and participate in service, scholarly, social, and fundraising events.
The benefits of Green and Gold Membership include being recognized at graduation, wearing letters, and using chapter funds for social events.
