The Bachelor of Applied Science is a degree completion offered to online students who transfer into Missouri Southern with an Associate of Science or Associate of Applied Science degree from a community college to complete an undergraduate degree that will facilitate their employment.  This degree program is designed to enhance and continue the area of specialization chosen in the associate's degree, the student will enroll in courses that will prepare them to compete for entry management positions.

The Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) is an alternative for students who do not wish to pursue an existing major. You can use your existing college credits with MSSU or transfer in credits from another accredited institution and create a program that fits your interests and career goals. Perfect for those already working in industry with college credits and would like to finish a college degree for advancement.  This degree can be combined with any of the online minors offered through MSSU Online.

The Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Health  & Safety
, is one of only 31 EHAC nationally accredited programs. Environmental health is the science of protection the environment and our public health and safety. The online degree, is a degree completion designed for transfer students that can not readily commute to the college campus for classes.  This makes this degree program especially useful for active military.  General education, biology, chemistry, math and physics requirements must be met prior to admission into the degree completion program.

Health Science-Business/Life-Health
(Degree Completion)

 

The Bachelor of Science in Health Science-Business/Life-Health Science is available for students who do not have a health profession background but would like to pursue a Bachelor of Health Science degree. As a major in B.S. Health Science, students will undertake a course of study that blends three areas of emphasis that is comprised not only of the Health Science (21 hours) core requirements but includes courses in Business (21 hours) and the Life/Health Sciences (21-27 hours). The courses in the curriculum are web based. The demand for this degree will be great among current students, past graduates, and clinicians currently working in the health industry.

The Bachelor of Science in Health Science-Dental Hygiene is a degree completion program offered to online students who transfer into Missouri Southern with an Associates of Science in Dental Hygiene. The Missouri Southern State University Dental Hygiene Program has been continually accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation since its inception. The most recent CODA site visit occurred in December 2009.

The Bachelor of Science in Health Science-Respiratory Therapy is a degree completion program offered to online students who transfer into Missouri Southern with an Associates of Science Respiratory Therapy. The Respiratory Care Program is designed to prepare students to be employed in the hospital, clinic, laboratory, and alternate care settings such as the patient’s home. Respiratory care practitioners perform a variety of clinical, diagnostic,and management functions in these settings.

Southern with an Associates of Science Paramedic.EMS is a young, ever changing profession. As the field advances through research technology, practitioners must reexamine practices and redefine new ways to administer emergency medical services. Additionally,EMS leaders and managers are constantly adapting and re-adapting to new polices, regulations, standards of care, and human resource challenges, which requires the use of advanced analytical, rhetorical, and research skills. Moreover, there is increasing pressure for EMS chiefs and executives to hold a Master’s in Public Administration, Public Health, or Business Administration. With a Bachelor of Science in Health Science-Paramedic,aspiring EMS leaders will be poised to take lead and/or earn their master’s degree.
