Teaching and Research interests:

Anything related to subcultures. Dr. Locher has written papers, articles, and a textbook about collective behavior (riots, fads, etc.), custom car enthusiasts, musicians, and several other related topics. Dr. Locher is the author of Collective Behavior (Prentice-Hall, 2002)

Fun Facts

Dr. Locher worked his way through college as a dishwasher, a cashier, a fence installer, and an airport line crew member as well as a semi-professional guitar player. His hobby is building traditional-style custom 1950s cars in his home shop.
