Elected OfficesDr. Elliot Ennis, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, has been elected to serve on the American Chemical Society’s national committee to write a standardized exam for a typical Organic Chemistry I class. Dr. Elke Howe, Associate Professor of Engineering Technology, has been contracted as a consultant for Ceradyne Boron Products. Ceradyne Boron Products is the leading global commercial processor of enriched boron and is the largest boron isotope enrichment facility in the world. The company is located in Quapaw, Okla. Ms. Wendy McGrane, Associate Professor of Library Science, has been elected to serve a threeyear term on the MOBIUS Board of Directors. The purpose of MOBIUS is to share library materials, information, and services using accessible, cost effective methods. The MOBIUS Union Catalog includes more than 23 million items, serving over 1.5 million people from the higher education community and the state of Missouri. MOBIUS includes over 60 academic libraries, 4 public libraries, 2 special libraries, and the Missouri State Library serving a total of 134 physical branches. Ms. Shanna Slavings, Assistant Professor of Communications, was selected to be a Missouri NCAT Scholar based on her work with redesign of an oral communications course. She will begin work as a Scholar in January 2013. |
