
Dr. Brian Davis, Assistant Professor of Biology, has published an article entitled “Earliest Cretaceous mammals from the western United States” in Acta Palaeontologica Polonica in October 2012. He also published an article entitled “Micro-Computed Tomography Reveals a Diversity of Peramurian Mammals from the Purbeck Group (Berriasian) of England” in Palaeontology Vol. 55, Part 4, Summer 2012.
Dr. Jennifer Dennis, Assistant Professor of Biology, published an article entitled “Mutations in hedgehog acyltransferase (hhat) perturb hedgehog signaling, resulting in severe acraniaholoprosencephaly-agnathia craniofacial defects” in the PLoS Genet in October 2012.
Dr. Joy Dworkin, Professor of English, published a work of creative nonfiction entitled “Live Traps” in the Summer/Fall 2012 issue of the I-70 Review.
Dr. Garrett Rea, Associate Professor of Math, has published an article in Mathematische Annalen entitled “A Subelliptic Analogue of Aronson-Serrin’s Harnack Inequality. This paper is the culmination of work in this area started in the early 1800’s and pursued by Nobel Prize winner John Nash (portrayed by Russell Crowe in the movie A Beautiful Mind). Dr. Rea also recently gave a lecture on his work at the American Mathematical Society conference in Tampa, FL.
Dr. John Summerfield, Professor of Chemistry, published an article entitled “Mathematical model of a lithium ion battery” in the Journal of Chemical Education.
Dr. Stephen Verrill, Associate Professor of Criminal Justice, and Mr. Tim Wilson, Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice, submitted a paper presentation abstract for inclusion at the Spring 2013 Annual Meeting of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences in Dallas, Tex. The quantitative study is entitled “Law Enforcement Employers: Educational Expectations for Entry Level Law Enforcement Candidates”. They were also recent featured guests on the Morning Show of KSN-TV.
Brian Nichols, Associate Professor of Economics and Finance, refereed the article “Cash Hoards and Investor Perceptions of Firm Prospects” in spring 2012 for The Financial Review, the official journal of the Eastern Finance Association.
