Whitney Fair’s art was displayed at the Graduate Student Showcase as a love letter, and a goodbye. Born in Joplin and raised in Carthage, Fair became an artist in middle school by buying canvasses and cheap acrylic paint, but he found his true passion when he enrolled at Missouri Southern in 2005, taking sculpting classes from professors Frank Pishkur and Scott Murray.

“Adventure is out there!”: Rylee Woodruff’s time in the Disney College Program

The Disney College Program is an internship program that allows college students to earn on-the-job experience in different roles within Disney Parks. From January to June 2023, Woodruff was placed in Epcot during both the International Festival of Arts and the Flower and Garden festival, cycling through the 13 different kiosks during the events. Outside of festival season, she worked at Typhoon Lagoon Waterpark or ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

Missouri Southern will host Lion Pride Visit Days on Friday, March 8 and Saturday, April 13 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Guests can learn about Missouri Southern, meet faculty and current students, and participate in a campus tour. Missouri Southern Awarded $2.3 Million for Digital Cadaver Lab Tables

Missouri Southern, in collaboration with Missouri Biotechnology Association and Missouri Western State University, has been awarded a $2.3 million state appropriation known as Missouri Science to Jobs. The funds will be used to increase collaboration and educational opportunities via industry partnerships in the precision health and agricultural science fields.

Missouri Southern State University’s Board of Governors unanimously approved a request to name its soon-to-be-constructed Health Science Innovation Center in honor of Former U.S. Senator Roy Blunt.  Ground is expected to be broken on the new facility this spring.
