Mission of the Teaching & Learning Committee
The Teaching and Learning Committee (formerly the Committee on Instruction) has been
established to help Missouri Southern fulfill its mission as a teaching institution; that
is, to assist "a faculty and staff [who] emphasize quality teaching and learning as
the most important attributes of the College..." To this end, the duties of the
Committee include:
- facilitating arrangements for seminars and workshops, to be presented by MSSC faculty
and experts from off campus, on the content and methods of college teaching;
- serving as a resource bureau to help individual faculty improve the quality of their
teaching, and especially to help new instructors find assistance and support for
particular instructional problems;
- bringing to the attention of the Faculty Senate, the Academic Policies Committee, and
other appropriate college offices any matters pertaining to teaching and learning that
require an institution-wide response.
