Steve Grant is anchor of "Ozarks Today" and the Noon News for Springfield’s NBC affiliate, KY3. He made his first appearance as a guest on KY3’s afternoon show "The Children’s Hour" in 1963. He was so fascinated with television that he came back to the station in 1974 as the youngest newsman ever to appear on Springfield television.
By the time Mr. Grant graduated from Evangel College in 1976, he was already a veteran anchorman and has continued in that assignment. In January 1987, he originated the Springfield area’s first full-length morning newscast, "First Edition." It proved so popular with viewers looking to start their news day, the program was expanded to an hour and was renamed "Ozarks Today." The program’s audience grew, and yet another 30 minutes was added in September 1999. KY3’s morning news has remained in the top 10 among local NBC affiliates across the nation.
Mr. Grant is married with one stepson. He is a voracious reader and movie-goer and loves to travel. His favorite places to travel include Scotland, Rome, Western Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Kenya, Mexico’s Pacific Coast, and the Isle of Man.
