The Criteria:

You must be:

a graduating high school senior or college transfer;
an enthusiastic, talented, and ethical student;
a dedicated theatre major or minor on degree track.

The Application:

Make application for admission to MSSU. Application For Admission To MSSU
Take ACT / SAT make composite score available to MSSU Theatre Department.
Send three recommendation letters to MSSU Theatre Department, including:

character reference by school official;
acting / technical talent assessment by theatre / drama teacher;
over all student assessment by any other teacher.

Have all of the above required materials in to MSSU Theatre Department by the deadline date.
When materials are complete, call MSSU Theatre Department (417) 625-9393 to secure an audition time slot.

The Audition:

Scholarships are offered in acting and technical theatre:

Acting Scholarships:

Perform two contrasting audition pieces. These must be memorized. Those who sing must bring a tape and player. A song is considered one audition piece.

(Total audition time is 5 minutes. Please observe time limit.)

Technical Scholarships:

Bring a portfolio of slides, photos, renderings, and models.

The Interview:

Immediately following the audition, you will have an interview with the theatre faculty.

Audition Schedule:

February 19, 2010. From 2:00 p.m. on.

Alternate Date:

February 27, 2010 after 10:00 a.m.– 2:00 p.m.

Place Of Audtions:

Bud Walton Black Box Theatre on the Missouri Southern State University campus.

Application Deadline:

February 1, 2010 All materials you are responsible for must be in the MSSU Theatre office by this date.
(If not, you will not be allowed to audition)
