Application for Admission - Procedure
Applications are accepted starting the last week of January
through June 1 st each year for the fall semester. Only one class
is chosen each year (fall semester).
To be considered for acceptance into the Respiratory Care program,
the applicant must:
Step One: Application Submit
an Application Form and Criminal
Background Check Form to the FTC Office on the
Missouri Southern Campus with the $50 application fee and
a $20 background check fee.
Step Two: HOBET Examination Individuals applying to the Respiratory Therapy Program must take
the HOBET exam. There are two general parts to the test:
Part 1-Math
Part II Reading and Comprehension
This test requires approximately two and one half hours to complete.
Applicants must obtain a composite score of 43 or above on this
exam to be considered for entry into the Respiratory Therapy Program.
Applicant must have an application on file and have paid the $50.00
application fee prior to the morning of the test.
The applicant
must reserve a test date by calling 417-625-9848 to schedule the test.
Step Three: Documents Submit the following documents.
Official Transcripts:
- High school or GED
- College transcripts
- Vocational
or Technical School, if applicable
Three letters of reference
Background check form
Step Four: Information Gathering Interview Applicants whose HOBET composite score is 43 or above and has
supplied the above documents will be contacted and scheduled for
an interview with program staff. All selected applicants will submit
to a drug screen.
